I am a Forest Ecologist with The Nature Conservancy in California. I lead applied research in support of TNC’s Forest Strategy in the central and northern Sierra Nevada region. My work focuses on developing scientific methods, tools, and frameworks to address the increasing impacts of climate change on our forests, particularly in relation to wildfire frequency and drought severity.
Previously, I was a postdoc working with Gretchen Daily in the Department of Biology, the Center for Conservation Biology, and the Natural Capital Project at Stanford University. Before that, I obtained my PhD with Tadashi Fukami and Gretchen Daily in the Department of Biology at Stanford University. My research focuses on understanding how climate and land use change impact biodiversity in the forests and farmlands of Costa Rica and California. To do this, I take advantage of field-based studies, experiments, remote-sensing, passive acoustic monitoring, and novel statistical tools to gain new insights into how humans are reshaping the world's ecosystems. |
